These days, a Ferrari F40 in mint condition with decent mileage easily sells for over $2-million, so a $9,995 detailing job sounds somewhat reasonable, right? I Am Detailing spent 30-days restoring this 1989 F40 formerly owned by British racing legend Nigel Mansell.
This isn’t a basic car wash, clay bar to get out the imperfections, and was / polish job, as I Am Detailing went as far as disassembling the interior to make sure nothing was missed. Dry ice and lasers were used to get rid of some rusty spots, particularly on the brakes. From what we can see, its twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter Tipo F120A quad-cam V8 engine making 478 hp and 426 lb-ft of torque still looks to be in perfect condition.

Such a raw machine. Always been my favorite car. One day I’ll find a way to at least see one in person. The back panel being the only separation between the cabin and engine is ludicrous and the fact that the whole tub was carbon fiber already back then is also super cool. The level of detailing by these guys is also very impressive,” said one commenter.
