You read that right, yet another Tesla owner has been filmed asleep at the wheel with the Autopilot driving assist system activated on a busy highway. Filmed by Instagram user srm_flex, who goes by Shawn Miladinovich, was traveling down California’s Interstate 405 when he encountered this Model 3. Unfortunately, law enforcement didn’t quite catch up to the Tesla before they took the exit for Interstate 110.

Technically speaking, Tesla’s Autopilot is supposed to deactivate when the driver’s hands leave the wheel for a set period of time or if its operator’s focus wanders. Strangely enough in this case, neither system worked properly or may have potentially been overridden by ‘hacks’ Tesla owners have been sharing with one another to trick the system. They could involve wedging a piece of fruit or a water bottle into the steering wheel.
