Eviation announced today that it has taken delivery of the first Alice EPU from magniX, and its all-electric aircraft is set to take flight later this year. Called Alice, it can transport up to 9-passengers for up to 440 nautical miles, powered by magniX propulsion systems. The design includes one propeller at the rear and a second at the end of each wing, perfectly placed to reduce drag from wingtip vortices.
The propellers are driven by a 260 kW electric motor that draws power from a 820 kWh lithium ion battery pack. At $3-million, the aircraft is capable of cruising at 253 mph, with operating costs at just 7-9 cents per seat per mile, or around $200 per hour for the entire aircraft versus the $1,000 for its turboprop counterparts.

The Alice is the epitome of the future of air transportation. All-electric by design, taking advantage of light-weight powerful and reliable propulsion systems. Together, we will enable a great flying experience – zero emissions, quieter, lower cost, all from and to airports closer to more communities,” said Roei Ganzarski, CEO of magniX.
