You’ve seen Far Cry 6 in 4K, now check out a Far Cry remake in Unreal Engine 5 that could be too graphics intensive for most PCs to handle. Even when this demo was run on an NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPU with 4K dynamic resolution and 60 FPS, the high-resolution textures, the number of environment objects and lumens made it very difficult to render smoothly.
For those who don’t remember, the original Far Cry was released on March 23, 2004 and the first installment in the franchise. It follows Jack Carver, an ex-American special forces operative, as he searches for female journalist Valerie Constantine who accompanied him to the islands, but went missing after their boat was destroyed by mercenaries. Did you know that a remake of this game with a different storyline and new mechanics was released on the Xbox in 2005? That’s right, it’s called Far Cry Instincts.
