The redesigned Figure 02 humanoid robot was unveiled today, and it’s already being tested at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg. Custom AI models trained in collaboration with OpenAI now enable one-to-one conversations with humans using its onboard microphones and speakers.
It uses six RGB cameras to collect data for its AI-driven vision system, which helps Figure 02 understand the world around it, while also enabling real-world AI tasks to be performed fully autonomously. One other significant upgrade are its human-scale robot hands, which allow it to perform a wide range of human-like tasks with their 16 degrees of freedom and human-equivalent strength.
