The Ford Mustang GTD completed a sub-7 minute lap at Nürburgring promise and becomes the fastest car from an American brand to do so. It managed to finish the 12.9-mile, 73-turn “Green Hell” in a blistering 6:57.685.
Power comes from a supercharged 5.2L V8 making 815 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, enabling it to hit 60 mph in under 3 seconds. What really sets the Mustang GTD apart from the other variants is its advanced Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve rear shock absorbers and cutting edge semi-active suspension at all four corners with a pushrod-actuated rear end as part of a race-proven tubular subframe. One caveat: the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD starts at around $300,000 USD.

The team behind Mustang GTD took what we’ve learned from decades on the track and engineered a Mustang that can compete with the world’s best supercars. We’re proud to be the first American automaker with a car that can lap the Nürburgring in under seven minutes, but we aren’t satisfied. We know there’s much more time to find with Mustang GTD. We’ll be back,” said Jim Farley, Ford President and CEO.
