The Ford Mustang I, a famous concept car from 1962, is essentially a small, mid-engined (4-cylinder), open two-seater vehicle with aluminum body work that shared a few design elements with the final production model. What if the automaker created an all-electric modern version? Introducing the sleek Ford Mini Mustang E1 by industrial designer Tyler Kwon. Unlike the concept with a wraparound front windshield, this version has a convertible hardtop.
Swing around the back, and you’ll find jet fighter-inspired roll bars and afterburner-like tail lights. The original Ford Mustang I was designed by Eugene Bordinat who envisioned a low-cost sports car that would combine performance and appearance in a radical layout. So, he coordinated with Ford designer Philip T. Clark to create the first clay model in a mere three weeks.
