GMBN First Wireless Bicycle Brakes Bike
Blake Samson of the Global Mountain Bike Network (GMBN) has created the world’s first wireless bicycle brakes. This project came about after he was playing around with an R/C car and the rest is history.

Samson was intrigued by the similarities between the R/C car controller and the brake levers on his mountain bike. The wireless bike braking system consists of a 150 kg (330.6 lb) servo connected to a cable-actuated hydraulic disc caliper to apply the braking force. A custom steel plate mounted beneath the caliper houses the servo, receiver, power stabilizer, and batteries.

This is absolutely amazing! Not just designing and building that on your own, but also daring to actually ride it pretty fast on real trails. And massive props to Blake for actually making a front brake version as well. Im pretty certain quite some people would dare to try out the rear one but certainly only very few would dare to even touch that little front brake lever, for obvious reasons,” said one commenter.
