Google kept the Pixel 10a at $499 for 128GB when it launched, and street prices have since drifted lower, with the Obsidian version often landing at $424. That number matters because almost every rival in this range either costs more on day one or starts cutting software support much sooner. Hardware inside this phone will look familiar if you held a Pixel 9a.

The 6.3-inch Actua pOLED screen now supports a resolution of 1080 by 2424 and can adjust between 60 and 120Hz refresh rates. With a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, which is significantly higher than the 9a, you will notice much less glare when outside. Gorilla Glass 7i now protects the screen from scratches, replacing the previous model’s Gorilla Glass 3. The colors are still sharp, and the contrast is excellent. Bezels are still visible if you stare at them, yet the phone is slightly shorter and three grams lighter than last year’s model at 153.9 by 73 by 9 millimeters and 183 grams.
The camera sensors remain unchanged, with a 48 megapixel main lens and optical stabilization, as well as a 13 megapixel ultra wide-angle on the back, albeit the new edition has a sleek flush finish that allows it to be set flat on a table. The front camera is also 13 megapixels. However, the software is what truly sets the Pixel apart. Google claims you’ll get more than 30 hours of ordinary use out of the device, and if you choose Extreme Battery Saver, you can extend that to 120 hours. You can also receive cable charging up to 30 watts, which can take your battery from empty to 50% in 30 minutes with a powerful charger. Wireless charging remains at 10 watts, however. There’s also bypass charging, which allows you to connect in and continue to use the phone without overheating.
Android 16 arrives on day one with a promise of 7 years of support, security, and feature updates, with its final release in 2033. That still includes the built-in Gemini, but it also means that functions like Circle to Search and Call Screen are now accessible from any screen, as well as Satellite SOS. You’ll also get dual speakers, an under-display fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 6E, USB-C 3.2, and the crucial IP 68 water and dust protection.
