We’re about a week away from the Google Pixel 8 hitting stores, but PBKreviews already has a teardown video showing just how repairable the smartphone really is. Once the SIM card tray is removed, the inner workings are revealed, including a copper layer for heat dissipation, the in-screen fingerprint reader, and the fourteen T4 screws holding down the logic board.
We won’t bore you with the technical stuff, but will say that the Google Pixel 8 received a 7 out of 10 score for repairability, which means that most users should be able to replace the smaller parts. The base model features a 6.2-inch OLED (1080 x 2400) screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Google Tensor G3 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, a dual rear camera system (50MP Wide + 12MP Ultra-Wide), a 10.5MP selfie camera, and a 4,575mAh battery.
