Netflix has been adding HDR support for several devices, starting with the LG G6 in May of 2017, and today, the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. How do you tell if the movie you’re watching is supported? Simply look for the HDR tag beneath the title. If you don’t see the tag, just know that it hasn’t yet rolled out to all devices, regardless of which version or update you may be running. “HDR comes in two formats: HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The Pixel 3 and its larger sibling both support HDR and are UHDA certified. As for which specification the Pixel 3s follow is something we’re currently trying to track down, however most of the Android devices listed by Netflix support Netflix HDR with HDR10,” said Tech Aeris.
