Halo Warthog vs Twin Turbo DeLorean Drag Racing
This may sound like a race that could only take place in a video game, but the Hoonigan team made it happen in real-life. That’s right, Red Dot Engineering heavily modified rock-crawler chassis before installing a twin-turbocharged 440 cubic-inch (7.2-liter) Ford small-block V8 engine making 1,060 horsepower, mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox. Now the DeLorean DMC-12 isn’t a factory vehicle either, as it’s powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.3L V6 engine sourced from a Kia Stinger GT generating 487 horsepower, paired with a Porsche 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. There were a total of three drag races, with the first one being a heads up at 1,000 feet. However, the second race also started from a dig, but at 500 feet and Warthog. The last race was also a standing start at 500-feet, although a proper heads up this time instead of from a dig. We won’t spoil things, but let’s just say that both vehicles matched up very well despite their appearances.
