The 2020 Jeep Gladiator wasn’t designed for drag racing, but John Hennesssey has other plans in mind, starting with the Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 crate engine he swapped in. The monstrous vehicle is called the “Hennessey Maximus 1000” and denotes that this Gladiator makes 1000 horsepower and 933 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
It also has an upgraded ECU, wiring harnesses, radiator, fuel system, and a stainless-steel exhaust system. Since Jeeps are made to go off-road, Hennessey added a large steel bumper with LED lights up front, heavy-duty off-road axles, front / rear driveshafts, a King off-road suspension system with a six-inch lift, Dana 60 front / rear differentials, and BFG off-road tires.
