American television host Jay Leno got behind the wheel of a Tesla Semi for his latest Jay Leno’s Garage show and it wasn’t just a segment of him driving around the city. Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen explained some of the technology behind the truck before Leno hopped into the 1,500 horsepower EV.
The 42-minute clip includes Jay Leno driving a Tesla Semi transporting a second Tesla Semi, with Tesla’s Senior Manager of Semi-Truck Engineering Dan Priestley sitting behind him in the cab. One thing that surprised the host was just how similar it was to driving a standard Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Model S, or Model X. For those wondering, a 300-mile version of the Tesla Semi reportedly starts at $250,000 USD, while the 500-mile variant will set you back at least $280,000.
