Joker Stair Dancing Scene
It’s not everyday that you get to witness the filming of a blockbuster film in person, much less see the main star in one of its most iconic scenes. That’s exactly what this smartphone user got to experience from a window overlooking these stairs, which connect New York’s Bronx Shakespeare and Anderson avenues at West 167th Street. Read more for the clip and the original scene.

Yes, the area was already blocked off for the filming of a movie, but those who were lucky enough to be inside one of the buildings probably didn’t know that Joaquin Phoenix would show up and start dancing on the stairs. If you listen closely, you can hear Gary Glitter’s “Rock and Roll Part 2” being played faintly in the background.

As of now, Joker has grossed over $1 billion, making it the first R-rated film to pass the billion-dollar mark at the worldwide box office, the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2019, and the 34th-highest-grossing film of all time. That’s not all, at the 77th Golden Globe Awards, the film received four nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Drama.
