Engineer Ken Pillonel has created a transparent AirPods Pro case with a 3D printer. This builds upon his previous project, which made the first generation AirPods Pro case fully user repairable, as he just so happened to have some clear resin collecting dust.
Printing your own is as simple as first downloading the STL files, importing them into 3D printing slicing software like Preform, and then printing them using transparent SLA resin. For example, you could use Formlabs Clear Resin on a Formalbs Form 3+ printer. Next, clean the parts before drying them using compressed air. After sanding everything down, you’ll want to apply a clear spray varnish ahead of reassembling everything. If you’re still interested, just download the files here.

Two goals behind this project. The first one is to do something cool and creative, for the beauty of it. To entertain. Because why not, if I can. Second goal, more serious, is to drive traffic to the aforementioned project and hopefully sensitize the viewer to those repairability issues,” said Pillonel.
