Engineer Ken Pillonel has created the world’s first USB-C AirPods Pro using a custom PCB and can be installed without milling the case. This also means that you can replace the internal battery should it not hold charge or is damaged.
Best of all, this is an easy mod that you can either 3D print yourself or buy a modded one from Ken Pillonel’s online store for around $324 USD. If you decide to go the latter route, there may be some small scratches and defects on the case due to complex modding process, but all the built-in batteries are new. As with most mods, you won’t receive the original box or cables, just the two earbuds and replacement tips. Or, the USB-C Flex PCB alone will set you back just $37.89 USD or so.
