For those who missed the official debut of the life-sized LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron last year, here’s an up-close look at this awesome machine. Featuring 2,304 motors from the LEGO Power Function series and 4,032 Technic gear that churn out 5.3 horsepower and 68 lb-ft of torque, enabling the 1.5-metric-ton replica to achieve a top speed of 12 mph. It took a team over 13,000-hours to develop and build.
Believe it or not, the doors actually open (with some prior preparation, though) to enable access into the equally impressive interior. The LEGO team’s attention to detail is crazy — they even went as far as fitting their Chiron with a working retractable rear wing. However, not everything is made of LEGO parts, as the seat belts are real and so are the wheels and tires.
