McMurtry Speirling Electric Hypercar Quarter Mile Record
The McMurtry Speirling may look like something from a cartoon, but this all-electric hypercar just set a new quarter mile record for EVs. Power comes from two electric motors located inside a custom-designed ‘e-axle’ generating a combined 1,000 hp, enabling it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 1.5-seconds, while topping out at over 200 mph.

What sets the McMurtry Speirling apart from all of the other electric supercars is its active downforce system, which doesn’t use either a front or rear wing, but instead twin fans that provide an extra 2,000 kg (4,400 lb) of downforce from a standstill. When these fans run at full speed, they generate approximately 120 dB of noise, comparable to that of a jet engine at full speed. One caveat: pricing starts from $2.43-million USD.

McMurtry Speirling Electric Hypercar Quarter Mile Record

Now, of course, all that power and performance doesn’t come cheap, costing just under £2,000,000. But if the car can break records as it claims, then it’s got to be worth it, right? All we know is, this is one review you don’t want to miss! Will Mat go faster than he’s ever been before? And more importantly, will he break some records?! There’s only one way to find out…,” said CarWow.
