Mercedes-Benz F200 Concept Car
Similar to the Hyundai Prophecy Concept, the Mercedes-Benz F200 concept car from 1996 also has joystick controls instead of a normal steering wheel. This just proves that the latter was far ahead of its time, especially after making its public debut at the 1999 Paris Motor Show. Nicknamed ‘Imagination’, the body itself was based partially on the S-Class of that time, while also previewing the CL-Class coupe that debuted in 1999.

The innovations did not stop there, as it also came equipped with innovative butterfly doors that eventually was utilized in the 2003 SLR McLaren, while its electro-transparent panoramic roof showed up on the 2002 Maybach 62. Keeping passengers safe has always been a top priority for Mercedes-Benz and the Window-Airbag used on the F200 eventually launched in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W220). Where is the world’s only F200 now? Well, it reportedly sold for $10-million USD to a private collector who showcased the vehicle at London Concours this past June.
