Project xCloud

Microsoft’s Xbox gaming division has big plans for life beyond consoles, and it’s called Project xCloud. Simply put, Xbox One components will be installed in server datacenters worldwide, enabling Xbox games to be played “on any device,” with current internal testing being carried out on mobile phones and tablets using an Xbox Wireless Controller. “Compatibility with existing and future Xbox games will be enabled with a custom blade hardware capable of hosting the component parts of various Xbox One consoles and the accompanying infrastructure. There isn’t an official release date yet, but public tests are set to start next year,” reports Hi Consumption.
