MKBHD $40,000 First-Generation Apple iPhone Unboxing
MKBHD, also known as Marques Brownlee, won an auction for a sealed first-generation Apple iPhone sporting a ‘Lucky You’ sticker for $40,320 USD back in April. Rather than leave it unopened, he decided to unbox the device on camera to show what exactly came with Apple’s very first smartphone, charging dock and all.

Aside from the charging dock, this iPhone also came with a USB to 30-pin cable, wall adapter, cleaning cloth and more. The device features a 3.5-inch (320 x 480) display, a 412MHz ARM 11 processor, PowerVR MBX GPU, a 2MP main camera, and a 1,400mAh Li-ion battery. What significance does the ‘Lucky You’ sticker hold? Well, this sticker was reportedly placed by Apple retail stores on some first-generation iPhone boxes that were designated as gifts. It originally retailed for $499 with 4GB of storage space when released on June 29, 2007.
