NASA’s Curiosity rover recently celebrated its 10th anniversary on the surface of the Red Planet, and what better way to kick off its 11th-year than with a bizarre face-like object. This image was allegedly captured by its MastCam system, which provides multiple spectra and true-color imaging with two cameras.
No other information or description was provided with this image, but some internet users are comparing this face-like rock formation to those from ancient Egypt. Whatever the case may be, we might have to wait until 2029 when Elon Musk plans to launch the first crewed mission to Mars before we get an up-close look at what could quite possibly be something from a past civilization. For now, we have NASA’s Perseverance rover, which could possibly meet up with Curiosity in the near future.
