Paper Mario: The Origami King is available in stores and through the Nintend E-Shop as of today. Similar to previous titles in the series, you control a paper version of Mario in a 3D world that combines other paper and three-dimensional constructs, including origami sculptures. Players collect coins, items, encounter non-playable characters (NPCs), solve various puzzles based on the paper world concept, and enter into combat to defeat enemies as you come across them. Travel Buddies have returned, but unlike previous entries in the franchise, they attack enemies when they get the chance, meaning the player will not have any actual control over them. The game boasts a ring-based combat system where the player, as Mario at the center of multiple rings, needs to line up enemies that sit on sections of these rings within a short period and then choose an attack to strike at those enemies that fall within the same arc across all rings.
