Playing DOOM inside Microsoft Word is now possible by enabling VBA macros. For those who have never heard of the latter, it basically refers to automated sequences of commands or instructions that you can use to perform repetitive tasks or add custom functionality, written in the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming language.
Should you decide to proceed, numerous security warnings will pop up, and you’ll need a modern version of Word to boot. It also requires Windows to be running on an x64 CPU. The *.DOCM file itself is around 6.6 MB, since it is the complete FPS game after all, and consists of a library called doomgeneric_docm.dll as well as the entire doom1.wad data file. After opening the file, a macro then extracts the game data and executes it. Interested? Check out the Github page here.
