A Polaroid camera typically prints photos instantly onto special film, but what if there was a more sustainable solution? Cameron figured out one method using a removable e-paper display in a custom frame that houses an ESP32 development board and camera module.



Cameron loved how electronic paper could hold images permanently, and without power. So, this sparked him to concoct what what kinds of fun things people can do with static images, and that is where the idea for this e-paper instant camera came about. Rather than have to swap in new instant film cartridges, the e-paper can be updated with a new photo whenever one tires of the current one.
