Auto enthusiasts know that the Rimac Nevera is fast and to prove that point yet once again, it set a new Nurburgring record for an electric production car with a 7:05:298 lap. This is a full 20 seconds faster than the Tesla Model S Plaid Track Pack, which lapped the same track in 7:25.231.
Croatian professional race car driver Martin Kodrić was behind the wheel and riding on Michelin Cup2R tires. The record breaking lap was verified by independent timing data, TÜV SÜD and on-board telemetry. To achieve this, Kodrić made use of the Nevera’s four electric motors generating a combined 1,914 hp and 1,740 pound-feet of torque, enabling it to hit 60 mph in a mere 1.74 seconds.

Breaking records with the Nevera is a testament to the innovation and dedication of the Rimac team. I’m proud of what we achieved in our first time at the Nürburgring. Our virtual performance optimization, combined with only about 20 laps of industry pool testing, led to a great result. This achievement showcases the engineering prowess and adaptability of the Nevera, which was primarily designed as a hyper GT,” said Emilio Scervo, Chief Technology Officer at Bugatti Rimac.
