Ninebot, the Beijing-based robotics startup that acquired Segway, has just unveiled the Apex H2, a hydrogen-electric hybrid motorcycle that wouldn’t look out of place in the next TRON movie. Unlike all-electric motorcycles, this one has hydrogen canisters that can be swapped out on the fly which turns the gas into electrical energy via a fuel cell to generate a combined 81hp, enabling it to hit 60mph in under 4-seconds, while topping out at 93mph.
Other features include a single-sided front swingarm concealed within its monoshock setup and a steering system that is tucked away beneath the front fairings. When released in 2023, the bike is expected to cost approximately $10,700 USD. Why do you need to wait so long? Well, the company is planning to first start a crowdfunding campaign to gauge interest, and once 99 orders are received, the Apex H2 will go into production.
