Analysts claim that Sony is currently working on a PlayStation 5 Pro model that will most likely launch alongside the disc-less Xbox Series X next year. Industrial designer Seungjae Lee shows us his vision of what he thinks the console will look like, and it oddly resembles a Keurig coffee maker, complete with detachable controllers.
The PS5 Pro should be using a new semi-custom AMD chip that purportedly clocks in at well over 3.6GHz, according to one insider. As for the GPU, it should clock in at around 2.7GHz, a nice bump up from the 2.2GHz of the current PS5’s. The total compute power of the PS5 Pro is reported to be around 23 teraflops (Tflops), more than double PS5’s 10.28 Tflops. In other words, it should easily be able to handle ray tracing at 8K resolution. Pricing wise, it should be right in line with the current PS5 Slim, or $499.
