Sony PlayStation 5 The Touryst 60FPS 8K Resolution Video Game
Sony PlayStation 5 console owners know that the console is capable of running 8K games, and the first one yet is The Touryst by Shin’en Multimedia GmbH. That’s right, it can be displayed at 8K, 60fps, but there’s more than meets the eye, technically at least. Despite the game rendering internally at 8K resolution (7680×4320), the console doesn’t support that output over HDMI 2.1, so the developer resorted to a supersampling technique that downsamples every pixel on any connected 4K TV, resulting 8K output. However, Shin’en mentioned that if Sony were to enable 8K output on a PlayStation 5, they would promptly release a patch allowing The Touryst to display without the downsampling technique on an 8K resolution TV. In this game, players can discover exotic islands or explore ancient monuments, climb into deep mines to uncover secret passages, and just make the trip you always wanted as a tourist.
