SpaceX’s Mechzilla platform successfully caught the first stage Super Heavy booster after Starship’s 7th flight. Unfortunately, the spacecraft “had an oxygen/fuel leak in the cavity above the ship engine firewall that was large enough to build pressure in excess of the vent capacity,” according to Elon Musk.
This meant that Starship experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly during its ascent burn, putting on a meteor shower-like show over nearby regions. Fortunately, Elon Musk stated that SpaceX engineers will double-check for leaks, add fire suppression to that volume and probably increase vent area, thus suggesting that they should not have to push the next launch past February.

That buster catch could not have been more perfect. Sad on the starship though. You can see the engines failing and the aggressive change of the angle right before the telemetry went off,” said one commenter.
