Elon Musk’s Cybertruck presentation may not have went as planned last night, with the two bulletproof windows shattering, but there was at least one shining moment when he showed it drag racing a Porsche 911. After the said race was shown, he reassured the crowd that none of it was CGI, but rather a real race that took some place in what appears to be a desert of some sort. Yes, Tesla did use a tri-motor AWD model for the drag race, the one capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in a mere 2.9 seconds and completing the quarter mile in just 10.8 seconds, but don’t forget that this Porsche 911 did get a head start. Will actual Tesla Cybertruck owners be able to replicate these races in the future? Most certainly, but only legally at the track.
