You could either spend £32,999.99 ($43,013 USD) on a brand new Tesla Model 3, or 8Pack’s new Orion X2 personal computer. This “gaming monster” actually consists of two systems, with the primary being configured with: a liquid-cooled overclocked Intel Core i9-7890XE (18 cores, 36 threads) CPU, 128GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, 2 x liquid-cooled overclocked NVIDIA Titan RTX graphics cards, 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 SSD (primary), 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 SSD (secondary), 14TB Iron Wolf NAS HDD (bulk), a 2000W power supply and Windows 10 Professional. The secondary system features: a liquid-cooled overclocked Intel Core i9-9700K CPU, 16GB of DDR4-4000 RAM, liquid-cooled overclocked NVIDIA Titan RTX graphics card, 2 x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 SSD in RAID 0 (primary), 14TB Iron Wolf Pro NAS HDD (bulk), and Windows 10 Professional.
Even the water cooling system is fully customized. That’s right, the Orion X2 computer boasts a triple water cooling loop, complete with a custom acrylic pass-through plates, seven reservoirs, three pumps, and 5 meters of hard piping for the 8 liters of coolant to flow through. For comparison purposes, Tesla’s Model 3 only has two pumps and a single reservoir.
