An Apple AirPower prototype recently surfaced, which may have prompted Elon Musk to develop the Tesla Wireless Charging Platform. This $300 USD wireless charging pad is Cybertruck-inspired and functions similar to Apple’s canceled project, as it provides 15W of fast charging power for each device – up to three Qi-enabled devices simultaneously
Its aluminum housing is both sleek and functional, while a premium Alacantara surface can be angled to provide better viewing when charging for your devices as well as keeping them scratch free. What kind of coils does it use? The Tesla Wireless Charging Platform makes use of coils from FreePower, which is from a company called Aira, and they claim to provide precise power delivery while allowing you to place devices anywhere on the pad. Available for pre-order now, with shipments beginning in February 2023. More information here.
