This followup to the world’s largest functional blender is just as messy, since the crew got two air cannons and then proceeded to record several collisions in super slow motion, including watermelons. Air cannons basically work by shooting bursts of compressed air into a chute to dislodge built-up materials, or basketballs, LEGO bricks, and more, in this case.
Loading and firing these materials wasn’t the issue, but rather syncing everything together so they actually collided rather than just shoot out of the air cannons. After several attempts, they decided to manually fire the cannons, and while things were better, the synchronization was still a bit off. We won’t spoil everything, but a collision did happen between two watermelons, although it was still far from perfect.
