Wee House Tiniest House Scotland
TinyTendo is more of a novelty item, while the Wee House, or the tiniest house in Scotland, can actually be lived in. The story circulating states that it was built on Loch Shin near the Scottish village of Lairg in 1824 by poacher Jock Broon who was gifted land by a person who owned a large estate in return for being taught how to distill whisky.

To mark his new status as a landowner, Broon decided to build the Wee House, but allegedly passed shortly after on a hooting trip. However, the truth is that it was actually built two decades ago for the Lairg Gala and taken to the island by boat at the end of the festivities. Since then, it has become a landmarks for both locals and tourists alike.

You wouldn’t actually get into the house but we could get you onto the island as long as there was a boat. You get those who have grown up in Lairg and when they come back and see the hoose, they know they are – they know they are home,” said Lindsay Macdonald, Lairg Postman.
