The world’s longest glass bridge has officially opened at the Huangchuan Three Gorges Scenic Area in Lianzhou, Southern China. Measuring 1,726-feet long, the bridge is even wide enough for cars to safely drive across. Should you decide to walk across it, the Lianjiang River will be visible below. There are four observation decks in the center section that can hold 500 people at once. Read more for a video and additional information.
The bridge took 3-years and $43 million USD to build, which is a feat in itself, considering the engineering required. If the government approves, this platform could also be used for extreme sports, like bungee jumping, zip lines and more. Or, if weather permits, an Instagram-worthy ramp for high fashion events.
