Unlike other camera-focused smartphones, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra Concept lets you actually use full-sized Leica M-Series lenses. It may look similar to the standard Xiaomi 12S Ultra, but a second Type 1 50.3MP sensor was added in the middle, along with a rear camera system compatible with an adapter for the full-sized lenses.
Installing the lens requires you to first remove the protection ring around the rear camera bump and then slide the Leica M-Series lens onto the adapter. For this unit, we see that it’s a Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH lens. Only 10 of these smartphones were reportedly made, each costing an eye-watering $41,000+ USD, although a few were sent to influencers for testing purposes.
