H/t: Car Scoops
Yes, the Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck is set for customer deliveries in just a few weeks, but how does the competition stack up speed wise? Throttle House wanted to find out so they pit the tri-motor 2022 GMC Hummer EV, which makes 1,000 hp and 1,100 lb-ft of torque against the Rivian R1T generating 800 hp and 900 lb-ft of torque from its quad electric motors setup against each other.
Unfortunately, the Tesla Cybertruck was not available for testing, although we’re sure Elon Musk could make something happen if he really did want to smoke the competition ahead of its launch in 2023. Just for comparison, the top-of-the-line Cybertruck has a tri-motor setup producing 800 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to hit 60 mph in a mere 2.9-seconds.
