Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max don’t hit stores until Friday, September 19, 2025 but unboxing videos are already popping up online. More specifically, a video showing an alleged Silver iPhone 17 Pro Max and then a Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pro, complete with a MagSafe case.
These videos show the move from titanium and glass to a unibody aluminum frame which feels both sleek and solid. A Ceramic Shield insert on the back for MagSafe and the camera plateau is also aluminum with a new triple 48MP Fusion camera system. The aluminum has a matte finish especially in the Cosmic Orange color which looks bold yet refined.
- Super Magnetic Attraction: Powerful built-in magnets, easier place-and-go wireless charging and compatible with MagSafe
- Compatibility: Only compatible with iPhone 17 Pro Max; precise cutouts for easy access to all ports, buttons, sensors and cameras, soft and sensitive...
- Matte Translucent Back: Features a flexible TPU frame and a matte coating on the hard PC back to provide you with a premium touch and excellent grip,...
Social media posts about the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s Cosmic Orange color and two tone back (where the camera area is different from the rest of the phone) are divided. Some love it, others call it a “cheap copy” when compared to modified older iPhones that copy the 17 Pro Max’s look. Box images shared by T-Mobile’s CEO on X confirms the sleek packaging with transparent cases showing MagSafe details.
These early videos feel like Apple is pushing the limits while staying true to their design roots. The metal frame, bigger camera system and advanced cooling tech all point to performance and durability. But with authenticated hands on videos and questionable leaks from Weibo it’s all a bit hazy. As pre-orders surge (the iPhone 17 Pro Max went on backorder almost immediately) these unboxings, legit or not, are getting people excited. When the phones hit the shelves on Friday, expect a flood of unboxings to reveal what’s real and what’s hype.
