Sure, a flying hovercraft is nice, but the Airspeeder MK4 offers a more exhilarating experiences. It’s the world’s first crewed flying race car, powered by a ‘Thunderstrike Turbogenerator’ that enables it to hit 225mph in 30-seconds from a standing start, while offering a 188-mile range.
Touted as the fastest hydrogen electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, it has a takeoff weight of just 950kg (2094lb). Its 1,340hp turbogenerator feeds power to both the batteries and motors, both of which are specially designed to work in eVTOLs. The company is planning to hold the first crewed races in 2024 and are now accepting entries for teams.
