In its history as a luxury car manufacturer, Alfa Romeo has competed successfully in various motorsport categories, including Grand Prix motor racing, Formula One, sports / touring races, and even rallies. They have competed both as a constructor and an engine supplier, with their first racing car making its debut in 1913, three years after the foundation of A.L.F.A., powered by a 6 liter straight-4 engine producing a 40-60 hp.
The Alfa Romeo Concept Stradale was created by designer Oscar Johansson and features a very low profile, designed purely for the track. Up front, you’ll find huge tunnels for channeling air across the vehicle’s underbody and out from the rear diffuser, generating maximum downforce through the corners, thus eliminating the need of a rear wing.
