Apple iOS 16 will most likely be released in September, alongside the new iPhone models, and one user interface design student previews how the customized Lock Screen notifications might look. This specific rework focuses on the Media Player and includes expanding album art, non-overlapping notifications as well as minimizing album art when notifications are received.
For those who didn’t watch WWDC 2022, the new Lock Screen in iOS 16 can now be heavily customized and upgraded with widgets. The latter includes weather, Activity rings, or whatever other information you want to keep an eye on. Similar to the Apple Watch, users can also create multiple Lock Screens, each with its own wallpaper and widgets. Switching between them just requires a simple swipe. The most anticipated change is the return of Apple’s battery percentage indicator on certain devices, which vanished in 2017 after the release of the iPhone X.
