Back to the Future Tesla Roadster

It’s inevitable, a Back to the Future prequel, sequel, reboot, or whatever the movie studios decide, but what could possibly replace the iconic DeLorean DMC-12? The upcoming 2020 Tesla Roadster of course, and visual effects artist Jorge Garcia shows us why. Pre-orders of this next-generation Roadster first began in 2017, with a $50,000 USD deposit required. There’s a base model that retails for $200,000, but the first 1,000 to be produced are called the Founder’s Series, and priced at $250,000, with a full deposit required to pre-order the latter. The production model boasts three electric motors, one in front and two at the rear, allowing for all-wheel drive, and torque vectoring during cornering. Tesla said that the vehicle had a 200 kWh (720 MJ) battery, twice the capacity of the Tesla Model S P100D, good for a range of 621 miles on a full charge.
