There have been rumors of Back to the Future being rebooted some time in the future, and if that happens, the 2020 Tesla Roadster SpaceX Edition would be a perfect time travel vehicle, or so automotive designer Charlie Nghiem. Just the base trim of the new Tesla Roadster has a top speed of over 250 mph, a 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 8.9 seconds, all powered by a 200 kWh battery pack that provides 620 miles of range, and 10,000 Nm of torque from its 3 electric motors. It’s rumored that the 2020 Tesla Roadster will also feature a “Plaid Mode,” which pays homage to sci-fi comedy film Spaceballs. Put simply, this is just a mode that offers faster acceleration than the Model S P100D and Model X P100D’s Ludicrous Mode. With the SpaceX option, Elon Musk believes the electric hypercar will truly deliver a “hardcore smackdown” to petrol cars.
