BMW 3.0 CSL E9 Batmobile
Remember the 1973 BMW 3.0 CSL (E9), which was nicknamed ‘Batmobile‘ due to its large rear wing and other aero parts? Well, a limited-edition BMW 3.0 CSL is being released, and it’s a doozy. Only 50 individually serial numbered vehicles will be made, each powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L inline-six engine making 552 hp and 405.6 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

To ensure the 2,800-pound vehicle stays planted at track, it boasts a tuned Adaptive M Suspension and standard M carbon ceramic brakes. The BMW 3.0 CSL will be manufactured at the automaker’s Dingolfing plant in Germany, where at team of 30 specially trained technicians are responsible for each individual configuration as well as assembly. There’s no word yet on pricing or how the ordering process will work.

The matte interior trims in a carbon fibre finish feature sequential numbering for each of the 50 units available. This marking, documented in the interior from #01/50 to #50/50, corresponds in each case to the final digits of the suspension number, thus representing a clearly visible and authentic reference to the individual vehicle identity,” said BMW.
