The BMW CE 04 started out as a concept, but today the company revealed the production model. Priced from $11,795 and set for launch in the first quarter of 2022, it’s powered by an electric motor nestled in the frame that generates 42 horsepower and 44 pound-feet of torque, enabling it to hit 30 mph in 2.6-seconds, 62 mph in 9.2-seconds, while topping out at 75 mph. Its 8.9 kWh battery pack is good for 80-miles of range on a full charge with an air-cooling system regulating the temperature.
If charged using a 6.9 kW charging cable at Level 2 speeds a full charge can be completed in 1-hour and 40-minutes, or 20-80% charge in a somewhat quick 45-minutes. There are multiple riding modes, including one for just a smooth coasting experience, or a regenerative braking-like mode similar to electric cars. ABS comes standard, but a “Pro” option offers auto brake control when leaning into corners. Other features include a 10.25-inch HD display, complete with smartphone connectivity, and an optional Premium Package.

The BMW CE 04 is our new electric star for the city. It combines an e-drive with emotion and motorcycling fun. The latest technology, and the best battery cells, which also provide power in the BMW iX. Just like the CE 04, all future new BMW Motorrad models for urban mobility will be pure electric,” said Oliver Zipse, CEO of BMW AG.
