Case modder extraordinaire Josh Kroger on Reddit used an actual bourbon barrel for his latest computer build, and it just might be the classiest one yet. To make this happen, the barrel was first disassembled, the sides of the staves shaved to flatten them out to use as side panels, and then the metal straps recycled as accent pieces, that’s not to mention the countless hours of sawing as well as hand filing to get the wooden parts to fit perfectly together. Once the case was assembled, he cut out cardboard hardware mock-ups to layout the proper hardware mounting locations inside the chassis, dyed the liquid he used inside the cooling system to look like real bourbon, complete with the whiskey bottle that he drilled as the liquid reservoir. As for the hardware, you’ll see that he used an Intel Core i7 9700K processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card among other things.
