Case preferences are subjective, so we can’t tell you that this is the best case for you. But after testing many cases for the latest iPhone models, whether it be budget or high-end, the “Enigma” is most certainly worth considering if you’re in the market for something a bit more fancy. Element Enigma iPhone Case
Before we get too far into the review, for anyone wondering, this case is compatible with the iPhone X / XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR models. It comes in a simple, yet very informative box that lists all the features on the back. Inside, you’ll find the case itself, a small instruction slip, and a Speed Wrench for the installation. The case felt light, but sturdy, thanks to its precision CNC machined front aluminum bezel. We really liked the “Fast Tap” buttons that are nearly flush with the sides.

Straight away, one thing that really stood out was the top-grain genuine leather back, with its sanded natural outer surface and a thick separated “split” lower layer that makes it thinner and more pliable. Don’t worry about your phone accidentally sliding out of the case during a hard fall or drop, as there are six small screws that connect the front and back bezel. Installation took under 5-minutes, as it involved using the Speed Wrench to remove the screws, and then placing the iPhone between the top frame and bottom half, before screwing everything back together.

No matter how we held the phone, SureGrip top, bottom, and sides ensure that it did not slide out of our hands. Setting it on a table didn’t make the phone hard to pick up again due to a raised perimeter that keeps the screen from coming in contact with surfaces, thus also protecting the camera. It’s designed to meet military specification drop-test requirements, so as long as you don’t perform any extreme tests, “Enigma” should be able to more than handle your daily routine.

It does not add bulk, yet still offers many times the protection of a simple plastic / metal cover, without having too many bells and whistles. More information.
