Game Boy Color Apple TV Remote
Gamer and technology enthusiast Otto Climan decided to transform a Game Boy Color into a fully-functional Apple TV remote while still retaining its cartridge playing capabilities. First, he took an original Game Boy Color, upgraded the LCD, and then contacted Retro Modding for a custom white case, buttons, as well as a cartridge. Why is the cartridge significant? It contains all of the hardware necessary for the Apple TV remote.

Since the Apple TV supports both Bluetooth and IR, the cartridge is necessary to implement this connectivity. That’s not all, Otto managed to get the D-pad and buttons working with Apple TV too, so that’s definitely a first. Unfortunately, there are no plans on selling this mod as Apple and Nintendo would most likely take the project down just as quickly as it went up.
